Gideon Obarzanek to co-host INCITE Intensive
We are excited to announce Gideon Obarzanek as the Guest Artist for our 2019 INCITE Intensive, open to mid-career artists from all performing arts disciplines.
Gideon is a renowned director, choreographer, performing arts curator and performer, and is founding Artistic Director of Chunky Move.
He will be joining our Artistic Director Danielle Micich, who is leading the Intensive across two weeks in November.
We are also welcoming Charmian Gradwell, voice and text coach at Sydney Theatre Company, who will lead some sessions during the Intensive.
“Now in our third year of INCITE, I can see how directly it sparks inspiration and a chance for artists to refine and expand their practice in a rigourous and supportive environment,” Danielle said.
“I look forward to working with Gideon and Charmian, who bring extraordinary expertise and a deep respect for artists and their work to program. There is no other program like INCITE in Australia.”
The INCITE Intensive, presented in partnership with Carriageworks, will take place over two weeks from 4 to 15 November 2019.
Theatre and dance makers, performers, directors, writers and designers who are seeking a deeper understanding of integrating voice, text and movement in their practice are encouraged to apply.
INCITE Intensive provides a chance to learn Force Majeure’s approach to devising work, alongside training from these internationally recognized guest artists.
Applications for the 2019 INCITE Intensive are currently closed.
